On My Mind Monday

Happy Monday to you, friends!

I have so much on my mind right now and my life is a little crazy.  Most thoughts are about things that I can’t go into a lot of detail about right now, but other things on my mind are random, weird things.

Such as:

“Did I turn off my hair straightener this morning?”

“Why can’t I figure out #22 on our math questions today!”

“Did Emily remember to turn in her homework?”

“Is Elizabeth getting sick because she was around some sickness this weekend?”

“Will the people looking at our house today look in my underwear drawer?”

…….and the madness goes on and on and on!  My brain never shuts off!!!!

Anyways, what I really want to share with you all today are a few verses from our message at church yesterday that are still speaking volumes to me.  I have heard them before, but right now in my life I really needed to hear these verses.  I’m sharing with you all today in hopes that they might bless someone else.  There is SO much junk going on in the world with protests and marches and hate, that I can’t help but dive more into the Bible and worry about my relationship with God and not all of this other horrible stuff happening around us.  I wish there was more love in action as these verses below describe and this world was a better place.  We can only make that change by starting in our lives and within us.  I challenge you to read these verses every day this week and really focus on living these verses out loud too.

Hope you have a great Monday!

Romans 12:9-21 New Living Translation (NLT)

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. 10 Love each other with genuine affection,[a] and take delight in honoring each other. 11 Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.[b] 12 Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. 13 When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.

14 Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. 15 Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!

17 Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. 18 Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.

19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,

“I will take revenge;
    I will pay them back,”[c]
    says the Lord.

20 Instead,

“If your enemies are hungry, feed them.
If they are thirsty, give them something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap
burning coals of shame on their heads.”[d]

21 Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.
